Through Sid Lee Amsterdam we’ve built a site showcasing the new adidas f50 football boot. When we got the pitch our choice of technology immediately fell on WebGL. We felt it was about time for a commercial site utilizing this technology, and the old pre-rendered image sequence isn’t as cool in 2011 as it once was. Thanks to WebGL’s usage of the GPU for the complex calculations we could use a set of 3D models with a total polygon count of well over 100.000. For users with lesser browsers—that’s the 60% of you using Safari or Internet Explorer—We Are Yours helped us out with a Flash fallback version.
